Selected writers can track views, unlocks, reader activity and earnings.
Writers may request payment once accumulated earnings reach US$100.
1. What is The One Chapter Challenge?
The One Chapter Challenge is a beta storytelling experiment by Mezel Studios and EBCHATS. Writers submit one short chapter. If selected, the story is transformed into a mobile EBCHAT experience with a shareable link.
2. Who can participate?
Writers, novelists, storytellers, Wattpad-style writers, fiction authors, memoir writers, bloggers, creators and anyone with an original one-chapter story can participate.
3. Do I need to be a professional writer?
No. You do not need to be published or professionally trained. The challenge is about whether your story can capture attention and make readers want to keep reading.
4. What kind of stories can I submit?
You may submit romance, fiction, drama, mystery, fantasy, faith-based stories, comedy, memoir, suspense, personal stories or any other original one-chapter story.
5. Can the story be fiction?
Yes. Your story can be fictional, inspired by real life, or based on a personal experience, as long as it is original and you own the rights to submit it.
6. Why only one chapter?
This beta is designed to test a simple question: can one chapter capture enough attention for readers to unlock and keep reading? Keeping it short helps us validate the format faster.
7. Why only one narrator?
During this beta, stories should be told by one narrator to keep the EBCHAT experience simple, personal and easy to transform into a tap-by-tap mobile format.
8. Is there a character limit?
No strict character limit is applied during this beta. However, the story should be written in short lines and short moments because EBCHATS are experienced one tap at a time.
9. What happens after I submit my story?
Our team reviews your submission. If selected, your story may be adapted into an EBCHAT experience and you may receive a private review link before publication.
10. Will I keep the rights to my story?
Yes. You remain the original author of your story. By participating, you grant EBCHATS and Mezel Studios permission to adapt, publish, distribute and monetize the selected EBCHAT version according to the challenge terms.
11. Can EBCHATS use my profile photo?
Yes. If your story is selected, you authorize EBCHATS and Mezel Studios to use the public profile photo from the social media, author page, website or Wattpad profile you provide as the narrator image for your story.
12. Can I earn money from my story?
Yes. That is one of the benefits of this beta. If your selected story generates paid unlocks, you may earn revenue from those unlocks according to the program terms.
13. Will I have a dashboard?
Yes. Selected writers receive access to a dashboard where they can view story activity, reader engagement, paid unlocks and accumulated earnings.
14. When can I request payment?
Writers may request payment once their accumulated balance reaches US$100. To receive payouts, writers must maintain a valid Stripe or PayPal account capable of receiving international payments. Payout requests may be submitted at any time after reaching US$100. Accumulated balances currently do not expire during this beta program.
15. How can I share my story?
You can share your EBCHAT link on Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Wattpad profiles, Medium, Substack, newsletters, blogs, websites or writing communities.
16. Does EBCHATS guarantee readers or income?
No. This is a beta experiment. EBCHATS provides the format, link, dashboard and monetization tools, but results depend on the quality of the story, reader interest and how actively the writer shares the link.
17. What content is not allowed?
We do not allow pornography, explicit sexual content, vulgar hate-based content, illegal drugs, graphic violence, weapon promotion, criminal activity, hate speech, religious attacks, occult promotion, harassment, exploitation or other inappropriate content.
18. When is the official launch?
The One Chapter Challenge is part of the beta road toward the planned 2027 launch of THE MOOO and EBCHATS creator programs.
